We would like to give a massive thank you to our partners at Tiso & Alpine Bikes who are supporting us to make the Trans Alba Race a reality.
When they got in contact saying they wanted to be a part of the first Trans Alba we were delighted. Not only was it a company that wanted to support the race, but a company we knew so well and had used ourselves for years.
Tiso have over 50 years experience as outdoor retailers and Alpine Bikes is Scotland’s largest independent cycle retailer. Covering everything from bike packing and mountaineering, to skiing and wild camping.
You can find several of their stores along the route. Pop in and tell them you’re on the Trans Alba and they will be more than happy to help out.
You can find this store just a few metres along the road from our registration venue, The Citadel. Based on Commercial Street in Leith, this is an ideal place to pick up any last minute camping and clothing essentials.
The nearest Alpine Bikes store is only a 15 minute cycle from registration. If you need to pick up some extra bike packing gear before you start, or a replacement part this is an ideal location. They live and breath cycling so will be well equipped to handle your cycling needs.
Around mile 78 you will have crossed the Tay bridge into Dundee. If you’ve just realised that you’ve forgotten something, it might be worth popping in to see if they can help you.
By mile 225 you’ve probably spent a night, or two camping in our beautiful wilderness. Swing by the Inverness store if you need a new bivvy. There’s also an Alpine Bikes based here, so very handy to sort out any bike issues before you head into the very north section of the route.
Tiso and Alpine Bikes bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge that they will be more than happy to share if you ask.
Keep checking the site - later this week we are going to bring you a list of our bike backing essentials!
